After a lovely morning in the surf and the sand we packed up and headed inland towards Ubud.
We hired a taxi and thought he was going to charge us $250 but soon realized it was only $25. Check your decimal points people! We crammed inside the car and shoved my surfboard on the reclined front passenger seat. Sara told me it was hot and stuffy sitting next to the board and she would not do it again. Weird,it was cold and breezy just two inches away where I was sitting.
We survived the trip and made it to our rad little cottage with an outdoor shower and stepping stones to get to the front door. We are perched up over a river with views of the rice patties in the distance. After a spot of tea on the deck we walked to the town of Ubud. It's a hip little yoga community with shops and boutiques. Definitely not undiscovered but cool and different. Namaste y'all!
