Saturday Night Fever

If the workload at my job comes in waves I'm currently caught on the inside of a big winter swell at Mavericks.  She just isn't letting up.  That said, if I don't get out, even for  a few hours, I will shrivel up like a California rasin.
Yosemite Sara wants a pickup truck and a dog.  For now she will have to live with a Subaru and a stinky dude.
Last weekend Kevin's wife Laura was out of town and Kevin was home alone for the weekend taking care of their daughter Riley.  Unlike most fathers Kevin thought this would be the best time to cook up a camping trip.  Emails went out and the plan was set.  We'd all meet up on a beach in Tomales Bay near Point Reyes.  Some would paddle kayaks in and others would hike.

Hauling in beer and firewood.  That's what friends are for.
Unfortunately I had to work Saturday and Sunday.  So Sara and I decided to hike in a few beers, meet up with the crew by the campfire and escape back to civilization under the cover of night.  And that is just what we did.

Riley is on track to be the hardest core person I know.

And we are out!

Gnarnia

Short post for an amazing ride.

Paul and I linked up with Dave on Saturday for a fantastic ride just south of SF at a place referred to as Skeggs.  This is probably the first time I've hung out with Dave not on snow.  You might remember him from memorable shenanigans like climbing Mt. Shasta or skiing in shorts at the Benson Hut.  Dave is always down to get down and Saturday was no different.  We met at the trailhead at 8AM and followed Dave through the morning mist.  We linked up fireroads and single track for the best ride I've had yet.  Really fun stuff, reminded me of skiing as Dave, Paul and I flowed downhill through banked turns and caught air on small berms.

We took a short break in near a stream in a spot we dubbed Gnarnia.  After hours of steady cranking we were back to the cars by noon.  Truly rad and looking forward to the next one!
