Courage

This great little video has been making the rounds.  It's up to 1.5 million views now so the message obviously transcends skiing.  Big ups to the 4th grade girl who took the leap.

Chasing Little Red

I've been in Arizona for the past few weeks filming cops and robbers.  While I was away Tahoe got hit with the biggest storm of the season.  The fellas crew got after it and boy was I jealous.  When I got back home last Friday I was itching to head up to the mountains.  Sara, Paul and I made our way up to Kirkwood and scored a few inches of fresh.  Not epic but I'll take it.  Check out the video y'all!

Back To Tahoe

I've been a little slow on the blog lately.  Just been catching up on my offline life a bit but things finally seem to be settling down (big exhale).

I've made it up to Tahoe the last few weekends and gotten some skiing in.  Feels good to get back into the mountains on a regular basis again.  But boy, what a difference a year makes.  It's warm sunny and the snow levels are LOW in Tahoe.  If we don't have a magical March get ready for some big wild fires this summer.

Last Sunday Pablo and I climbed and skied Mt. Tallac.  It's a South Lake Tahoe classic.  Last time I climbed it was four years ago almost to the day.  I brought a GoPro this time around but had some malfunctions in the field so you'll just have to believe me when I say perfect powder turns from top to bottom!  Just kidding, it was pretty darn icy.  We alternated between sliding on our skins and kicking steps through breakable crust.  The summit was gorgeous and their were about six great turns in the middle.

Last weekend we crushed at the resorts.  Vail bought our little mountain so now our el cheapo passes work at Heavenly and Northstar.  Should be interesting to see what happens to the 'Wood in the next few years.  I'm glad to say we called it our mountain when it was small, scrappy and the lifts were suspect at best.

Saturday we headed to Heavenly for some good old times with Paul, Kate and Josh.  Sara parked it in the Starbucks at the base (Thanks Vail) and finished her school.  Responsible, right?  Conditions were like late spring.  It was hot, folks were rocking t-shirts and jeans making it really feel like winter has officially been canceled.

Saturday night Sara and donated some of our cash to the local South Lake Tahoe casino charity.  Tough times and everyone needs to do their part you know.

Sunday Sara and I headed up to Northstar to really see what our newly minted Vail passes could do.  This place was the real deal.  Fur coats, investment bankers, and range rovers seemed to be the norm.  Again, we made good use of the Starbucks at the base and the clean, speedy lifts.

Took Monday off of work and headed up to the wedding spot to work out some deets.  Tasted beer at the local brewer and ordered some kegs, checked out a few ceremony locations, and chillaxed.

It was nice to be back in Tahoe.
