Surfing and Skiing

Apparently the bay area isn't the only place you can go surfing and skiing all in one day.  Saw this post over at the Adventure Journal and had to share.

Bay Area Weekend

Had a quintessential Bay Area weekend.  On Saturday we headed up to Northstar to enjoy the sunshine and rail on some groomers.

Sunday I met up with Chris for a sunset ride.  We left too late and made it a real adventure finishing the second half of the loop in the moonlight.  No pics from the ride but here's one from awhile back when Chris shredded the gnar so hard his crank came off.

Nerping

The sun is out and the snow is melting!  Last Wednesday Tahoe got hit with a nice storm.  It was like the old days, pouring rain outside, I checked the weather every minute from work, watching the radars, cams and lifts.  Kirwood had almost all their lifts closed on Wednesday as the storm rolled in and dropped 16 inches of fresh.  All I wanted to do was play hooky on Thursday and devour the new snow.  But I let responsibility cloud my judgement and instead I went to work.

By the time the weekend rolled around I was rabid, like a pit bull on the end of his chain.  Feed me!  By that time the sun was out and the snow was tracked but Sara and I still got some fun spring skiing in at Kirkwood on Saturday and Heavenly on Sunday.  Not a powder day but I'm not complaining, a fun day in the mountains is a fun day in the mountains.

Last time Bernard was at our house he left us a Rockstar and a Snickers.  Gracias muchacho.

On a completely different note.  I am obsessed with this video.  Some hilarious dude took a video of a Red Bull snowboard contest and revoiced it.  Genius.
