I'm in Colorado!
First iphone post, lets see how this goes. The orange monster just scooped me at the airport. It's six degrees and suppose to be colder tomorrow.
What a difference a day makes
| Chris and Lisa - Free heel, free mind. |
Went up to Tahoe for the weekend with Chris, Lisa and Sara. Kicked things off with a lazy Saturday morning sipping coffee lakeside at Camp Richardson.
That afternoon we went for a tour along Fallen Leaf Lake in the shadows of Mount Tallac. It felt more like late April than late January with lots of exposed dirt and rocks to break up the kick and glide. But anytime spent on two planks in the woods with friends is time well spent.
Woke up Sunday morning to find a blanket of fresh. About 4 inches at lake level. We made our way to Kirkwood and were surprised to find knee deep stashes. I also discovered how to unleash Sara's alter ego, The Ripper. It's a simple mixture of one banana and a Red Bull on the lift. Do not attempt unless you are ready to release The Ripper for the rest of the day!

Where Is The Weekend?
If I learned one thing in college it's that the weekend starts on Thursday (thanks Big Ten). So here are some tunes to get things started. A few acoustic tracks from an old favorite. Iron & Wine performing a set on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts.
If you dig the tunes check out his new album that was just released on Tuesday, I'm downloading it as I write this...

Spring Skiing in January
Went up to Tahoe for some spring skiing in January. After weeks with no precipitation expectations were extremely low. Paul, Sara and I managed to get some fun turns, fresh air and (on dry pavement with zero traffic) did the drive in record time.
On the way out of dodge we stopped to check out a house for sale near the Nevada border. Rad views of the Sierra and plenty of room to move. Not quite right but very interesting.
This one puts the ski total up to eight days for the season.
